Job sheets and work orders

The sheet that goes out with the van: what was wrong, what was done, parts and hours, signed off by the customer.

A job sheet does three jobs at once — it tells the engineer what to do, records what was actually done, and turns into the invoice. These total labour against your own hourly rate and add the parts, so the figure at the bottom is worked out rather than guessed. Rates, call-out charges and tax are whatever you enter.
