Privacy

The short version

• Google AdSense is loaded on this site for advertising. It is a third party and it processes data about visitors.
• We run no analytics of our own — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no pixel, no heatmap.
• There are no accounts and nothing to sign in to.
• The contact form is the only thing that collects anything — it sends what you type to us, and nowhere else. The newsletter form is still switched off.
• Downloads are not tracked. The PDFs are ordinary static files.
• What you write on a sheet never reaches us. Fillable PDFs are completed on your own device; there is no upload and no server involved.

Advertising, in detail

This site is funded by advertising. The Google AdSense script is loaded on every page under the publisher account ca-pub-4172460239658162.

Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure advertising, and may use data about your visit to do so. Google’s own description of how it uses data from sites that use its services is published at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can review and change Google’s ad personalisation settings for your own account at myadcenter.google.com, and opt out of personalised advertising from participating vendors at optout.aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com.

Consent. Visitors in the UK and the EEA are shown a consent message before personalised advertising is served, and can refuse it. Refusing does not restrict anything on this site — every sheet stays free and ungated either way.

Ad units are not yet serving

Being straightforward about the current state: the AdSense script is present so that Google can review the site, but no ad units are being served yet. The bordered boxes you may see marked “placement — not yet enabled” are reserved space that loads nothing. When ads do start appearing, nothing on this page changes except that the boxes fill.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps ordinary server logs — typically IP address, timestamp, requested URL and user agent — as essentially every web server does. That is a normal part of serving a web page and is outside our control.

The contact form

The form on the contact page is handled by Netlify Forms, part of the hosting this site already runs on. There is no third-party form service and no JavaScript involved. When you submit it, the fields you filled in — your email address, and whatever you wrote — are stored in the site's Netlify account and forwarded to us by email.

• It is used to answer you, and for nothing else.
• You are not added to any mailing list. The form and the newsletter are unconnected.
• Your address is not sold, shared, or used to build a profile.
• Submissions are kept while they are useful — a correction about a sheet is worth keeping until the sheet is fixed — and deleted when they are not.
• The form includes a hidden decoy field to catch spam bots. It collects nothing from you.

The newsletter, when it exists

No email provider is connected and the signup form is disabled, so no address can currently be submitted. If a newsletter launches it will be opt-in, every email will carry a working unsubscribe link, and the address will be used for that newsletter and nothing else. It will not be sold, shared, or used to build a profile. This page will be updated before that changes.

Links out

Some pages link to manufacturers, regulators, retailers and to other sites we run. Those sites have their own policies and we have no control over them. If a link is ever an affiliate link — meaning we might be paid if you buy something — the page will say so plainly. There are none at present.

Your rights

Where data protection law applies to you, you have rights over personal data held about you, including access, correction, erasure and objection. The only personal data we hold is what people choose to send us through the contact form or by email; write to us and we will show you it or delete it. For data processed by Google in connection with advertising, Google is the controller for those purposes and its policy above explains how to exercise those rights; you can also write to hello@upkeeppapers.com and we will help where we can.

Children

This site is aimed at adults looking after property, vehicles and equipment. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

This page describes the site honestly rather than defensively. It is not legal advice, and if you are relying on it for your own compliance purposes you should take your own.
