The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.
The sheet for a job that happens on a roof and stops when the weather says so. It records each elevation or area worked on, how access was arranged, every spell lost to weather, and totals the labour and materials underneath.
Roofing contractors and small roofing firms doing repairs, re-covers and flat roof work, who need to show a customer why a two-day job took four.
The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.
Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.
Because roofing is the trade where lost days are hardest to prove and easiest to dispute. A dated line written on the day, with the conditions and the hours lost, is worth far more than a recollection at the end of the job.
No. It records what access was used, who supplied it and that it was checked before work started. The inspection itself belongs on a scaffold inspection record, kept alongside this sheet.
However you price it. The quantity column takes your number and the unit column takes your unit — square metres, linear metres, or simply the number of tiles or sheets. No measurement or rate is supplied here.
Yes — keep the job number the same and add labour lines as the job runs. The printable runs to a second page, and the workbook takes as many rows as you need.
Each item of work, where it was done and how it was measured.
Every item installed, with make, model, serial number and where it went.
Materials and labour kept apart, so the customer can see what is what.
Printable sheets, workbooks and tools on the same subject.
Spot roof problems early and, more usefully, see what has changed since the last inspection.
Keep a dated inspection history for one scaffold, with findings and the action taken recorded beside each inspection.
Keep a numbered register of every ladder, step and tower on site and a dated grid showing when each one was last looked over.
Every sheet, binder, game and puzzle on Upkeep Papers is free to download, with no email and no account. Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
