Pack and Despatch Check Sheet

A free printable warehouse packing check sheet — one row per consignment with ticks for contents, protection, label and paperwork, then the carrier and number.

First page of the Pack and Despatch Check Sheet — Catch the wrong label, the missing invoice and the unpadded fragile item at the bench, where they cost a minute, rather than at the customer's door.

What this sheet is for

Catch the wrong label, the missing invoice and the unpadded fragile item at the bench, where they cost a minute, rather than at the customer's door.

Who it is for

Packers, despatch clerks and small business owners who pack their own orders and want a record of what left with which carrier.

How to use it

  1. Write the bench, date and packer at the top.
  2. Give each parcel or pallet a row and check the contents against the pick before sealing it.
  3. Tick protection, label and paperwork only once you have looked at each.
  4. Add the carrier and the consignment number once the label is printed.
  5. Keep the sheet with the day's despatch manifest.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: The last look before the box is sealed and handed to the carrier — does the contents match the pick, is it protected, is the label right, are the papers in, and who is taking it.

Look, then tick. Tick each box only once you have looked, not because the picker said it was fine. The consignment number goes on last, once the carrier label is printed, so the sheet is also your record of which parcel went with which carrier.

Questions

Why record the consignment number here as well as on the carrier's system?

Because the carrier's system tells you where a parcel is, not which packer sent it or whether the papers were in. When a customer says the invoice was missing, this row is the one that answers.
