What this sheet is for
Send one copy with the goods and keep one at the bench, so a short delivery can be traced to the line that was packed, checked and signed for.
Who it is for
Packing benches and despatch desks in a warehouse, workshop or small manufacturer sending goods against customer orders.
How to use it
- Fill in your despatch reference, the customer's order number, the carrier and the delivery address.
- List each order line with the quantity ordered, the quantity sent and anything back-ordered to follow.
- Write the batch or serial number where the product is traced, and the package it went into.
- Record packages, pallets, weight and any hazardous or fragile marking.
- Packer and checker sign; the receiver signs the copy that travels.

Questions
How is this different from the delivery note?
The delivery note is the driver's proof that goods arrived. This is the packing bench's record that they left, which is why it carries the to-follow column, the batch reference and the checker's signature that a delivery note does not need.
Where do prices go?
Nowhere on this sheet. A despatch note travels with the goods and is often seen by people who have no business knowing the price; the invoice carries that.
