What this sheet is for

Give a picker one clear list to walk the aisles with, and give the pack bench a signed record of exactly what came off the shelf.

Who it is for

Small warehouses, stores rooms, workshops and online shops that pick orders by hand without a scanner or a warehouse system.

How to use it

  1. Write the order number, customer, date required and the picker at the top.
  2. List each line in the order you will walk the aisles, with its location and code.
  3. Tick each line as it goes on the trolley and write the quantity actually picked, even when it matches.
  4. Record any shortage and who it was reported to.
  5. Sign it off and note the time it was handed to packing.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: The list a picker carries down the aisle — one order, its lines in location order, what was asked for and what was actually picked — then signed off before it goes to the pack bench.

Write-on lines: Order no. · Customer / destination · Required by · Picker · Pick zone / route · Started · Finished

Lines to pick — in location order — tick the box when the line is on the trolley

Table, 11 rows: Line · Location · SKU / code · Description · Qty ordered · Qty picked · Short · Tick

Write-on lines: Shortages reported to · Substitutions agreed with · Trolley / tote no.

Signature strip: Picked by · Checked by · Handed to pack at (time)

Questions

Why write the quantity picked when it is the same as the quantity ordered?

Because a blank cannot be told apart from a line that was missed. A written number says someone counted; a blank says nothing, and the pack bench cannot tell which it is.

Can this be used for a stock transfer rather than a customer order?

Yes. Put the destination store in the customer box and treat the lines the same way. The sheet does not care where the goods are going, only that what was picked matches what was asked for.
