What this sheet is for

Capture a job while you are still standing in it: what was asked for, what was done, what went into it and how long it took.

Who it is for

Electricians, plumbers, heating engineers, joiners, mobile mechanics, cleaners and any small firm sending someone to an address.

How to use it

1. Fill in the customer and site block before the work starts.
2. Write the work requested in the customer's words, then the work carried out in yours — keeping them apart is the point of two boxes.
3. List parts with part numbers while they are still in your hand.
4. Record arrival and departure times, and whether a return visit is needed.
5. Sign it, leave a copy, and keep one for the file.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Is a signed job sheet a contract?

No. It is a record that the work described was carried out. It does not set terms, agree a price or transfer any liability, and it does not replace the written agreement, estimate or invoice you rely on — keep those with it.

Why separate 'work requested' from 'work carried out'?

Because the difference between the two is what most disputes are about. Two boxes make the gap visible on the day, when it can still be discussed.
