Trace a crack, a colour difference or a failed bond back to the batch, the day and the weather, instead of guessing which wall was done when.
Renderers, plasterers and external wall insulation installers, and builders recording a subcontracted render job.

Printed under the title: One rendering or external wall job: each elevation's substrate and preparation, the system and coats that went on, and the days and weather they went on in.
The bag's figures, your record. Mix ratios, coat thicknesses and the time between coats are the figures on the bag and in the maker's data sheet — write in the ones you followed. The sheet holds which product, which batch, which day and what the weather was doing.

Because that figure belongs to the render system you are using and the weather on the day, and the maker's data sheet is where it lives. The sheet records which product, which batch and which day, so the interval you followed can be shown afterwards.
They are the reason this sheet exists. A shade difference between two elevations or a top coat that will not bond is a batch question first, and the bag is long gone by the time anyone asks.
Settle the questions a scaffold hire always raises — who asked for the extra lift, when off-hire was called and what went missing — from a signed record rather than a phone call.
Answer the call a year later — a hollow tile, a shade difference, a grout that stained — from the batch numbers and the prep you actually did.
Record a day on site while it is happening, because delay, weather and verbal instructions all become arguments later and are trivial to note now.
Get the customer's signature that the work is done while you are still standing there, with anything outstanding written down rather than remembered differently.
