A free printable guttering job sheet — each run of gutter, fascia and soffit by elevation, what was found behind the old boards, downpipes and materials.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.

Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Get the roofline job down run by run while you are still up the ladder. The rot and the nests are covered over an hour later and argued about a year on; this is where they are written down first.
Roofline and guttering installers, roofers and general builders who replace fascias, soffits and gutters, and anyone running that work from a van.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: One roofline job, run by run: what came off, what went on, and what was found behind the old boards.
Your fall, per run. How much fall a gutter takes and where its outlets sit are decided by the run in front of you and the profile you are fitting, so the column asks for the fall you set, not a figure of ours. What was found under the old fascia is the thing to write down before it is covered.
Write-on lines: Customer · Address · Date · Fitted by · Access used · Scaffold / tower ref · Roof type & covering · Weather
Table, 4 rows: Elevation / run · Length · Existing · Fitted · Fall set to · Outlets · Fascia · Soffit
Write-on lines: Downpipes: no., size, colour · Discharge to · Brackets & fixings · Old material away? · Run with water?
Signature strip: Customer signature · Print name · Date
Because the right fall depends on the run in front of you, the profile you are fitting and where the outlet can go. The column asks for the fall you set on each run, in your own hand, so the record shows what was done rather than what a table says.
Yes — that is what the found-behind section is for. Capping over sound timber is a normal job; capping over rot is a conversation the customer needs to have had, and the sheet is where it shows that they did.
Keep gutters on a schedule instead of clearing them after the damp appears, and record faults you spotted but did not fix.
Spot roof problems early and, more usefully, see what has changed since the last inspection.
Record what each surface actually was and what went onto it. A later crack, a blown patch or a paint failure can then be traced to the background rather than guessed at.
Get the customer's signature that the work is done while you are still standing there, with anything outstanding written down rather than remembered differently.

Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
