Instructor Diary and Booking Page
Keep the week's bookings in the car on paper, so a lesson survives a flat phone and the week's takings add up from one page.

Show a pupil where they actually are across the whole course, and give the instructor a written basis for saying the test is, or is not, the right call yet.
Driving instructors and the pupils and parents who want to see progress rather than hear about it, and anyone supervising private practice.
2 pages, in this order:
Printed under the title: One pupil, the whole course on two sides — which topics have been covered, how independently they are driven now, the mock tests, and the instructor's honest view of readiness.
Your syllabus, your rating scale. What a test examines and what counts as a fault is set by the testing body where you are; this sheet does not list a syllabus or a pass standard. Write the topics your course covers, and rate each one the same way every time so a pupil can see movement, not a mood.
Write-on lines: Pupil · Instructor · Started · Lessons so far · Private practice hours
Table, 12 rows: Topic · First covered · Prompted · Independent · Consistent · Notes
Table, 5 rows: Date · Route / area · Faults noted · Your call · Work on next
Write-on lines: Instructor's view · Test date if booked · Test centre · Still to cover before the test · Pupil's own view
Table, 9 rows: Date · Worked on · Went well · Next time
Because what the test covers and what counts as a fault is set by the testing body where you are, and instructors sequence courses differently. The rows are blank so the sheet fits your course, not somebody else's.
Your judgement, in your own words, of whether that drive would have met the standard on the day — a yes, a no, or a not yet. It is your call, recorded.
Keep the week's bookings in the car on paper, so a lesson survives a flat phone and the week's takings add up from one page.
Record what you actually did in each session, so progress over a block is something you can look at rather than something you try to remember.
Record that somebody was actually watched doing the task, rather than that they attended a course about it.
Come back from a test drive with notes on what you heard and where, instead of a general feeling that it seemed fine.
The same subject, with a version you can fill in on screen.
How long each practice drive lasted and the running total of hours.
