What this sheet is for
Price a job in writing, with the exclusions written down, so both sides know what was and was not covered before the work starts.
Who it is for
Trades, gardeners, cleaners, mechanics, makers and anyone quoting for work.
How to use it
- Write plainly at the top whether this is an estimate or a quotation.
- Break the price down by stage or item — an unexplained total invites haggling.
- Fill in the exclusions. This is the section that prevents the argument.
- Put a validity date on it, so an old price does not come back months later.
- Attach your own terms; this sheet does not supply any.

What is the difference between an estimate and a quotation?
In general use, an estimate is a considered guess and a quotation is an offer of a fixed price — but what each one binds you to is a matter of local law and of what you wrote. Say clearly which you are giving, and take your own advice if a job is big enough to matter.
