What this sheet is for

Give a receipt for money taken and keep an identical copy, with the balance still owed written on both halves.

Who it is for

Trades taking deposits, market and craft sellers, private sellers, landlords taking rent in cash, and clubs collecting fees.

How to use it

  1. Fill in both halves at the same time, in front of the person paying.
  2. Always complete the balance line, even when the balance is nil.
  3. Number the receipts and keep your halves in order.
  4. Say what the money is for, not just how much it was.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
