Tachograph Chart and Download Record
Keep your own record of what tachograph paperwork you produced and when it left your hands, so a missing chart or a late download is not your word against the office.

Follow each tachograph infringement through to a debrief, an agreed action and a follow-up. The record shows the cause was looked for, not only the breach.
Transport managers, compliance staff and fleet operators who analyse driver card and vehicle unit data.
2 pages, in this order:
Printed under the title: The infringements found when one period's driver card and vehicle unit data were analysed, each graded on your own scale, then the debrief with the driver, the action agreed and the follow-up that shows whether it worked.
Find the cause, not only the breach. Describe each infringement in plain words and grade it on the scale your operator uses. What counts as an offence, and how serious it is, is set by the drivers' hours rules where you operate: check them, not this sheet. Look for the cause, a schedule, a route, a delay, so the same breach does not come round again.

Because what counts as an infringement, and how serious it is, are set by the drivers' hours rules where you operate, and those rules change. Describe each one in plain words and grade it on the scale your operator uses.
That sheet logs the charts, printouts and downloads themselves. This one picks up after the analysis: what the data showed went wrong, the conversation with the driver and the action that followed.
Keep your own record of what tachograph paperwork you produced and when it left your hands, so a missing chart or a late download is not your word against the office.
Keep a plain written record of when a driver started, stopped and rested, so the week can be checked against whatever limits apply to you.
Account for a day at the wheel in enough detail to answer an operator, a client or an inspector, and see for yourself how close to your limits you are running.

Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
