Know what restraint kit you own, what each item is rated for and when it was last checked. Faults and withdrawals sit on page two, so a damaged strap is traced to the day it went out of use.
Hauliers, transport managers, yard staff and owner drivers who keep a stock of straps, chains, nets and bars.
2 pages, in this order:
Printed under the title: Every strap, chain, net and bar the operator owns, each with its own ID and rated capacity, the periodic condition checks made on it, and the date and reason it was taken out of use.
The rating comes from the label. Copy each item's rating from its label while the item is new, because labels wear off. How often items are checked, and what damage takes one out of use, come from the maker, your own procedure and the rules where you are.

Ratings are on each item's label and differ by make and type, and how often to check comes from the maker, your own procedure and the guidance you follow. The sheet records the rating while it can still be read and leaves the interval for you to write in.
That sheet is filled in for one load: the straps used on it and a re-check at each stop. This one is the register of the kit itself, item by item, across months: its rating, its periodic checks and the day it was withdrawn.

Do the same walk-around in the same order every day and leave a record of what was found, who it was reported to and what happened next.
Put the whole movement on one page before it starts, so the bridge that will not take the height is found at the desk and not at the bridge.
Get a fault from the driver's walk-round to the workshop in writing, with a closed loop showing it was fixed.
