Recording Session Track Sheet
Open a session file months later and know what every track is, how it was recorded and which take was the keeper, without soloing them one by one.
Music and performance · MU-25
A songwriting and demo log — every song in progress with its stage, co-writers and agreed share, plus a list of demo versions so the current one is clear.
One page. Choose your paper size — both versions are laid out identically, so neither one gets shrunk to fit.
Print it and write on it
Fill it in type and save
The fillable versions have real form fields — open them in any PDF reader, type into them and save. Printing help.
Find and finish the idea from last spring instead of losing it on a phone, and have the writing credits written down from the day they were agreed.
Songwriters, co-writers, bands with more than one writer, and anyone recording demos at home who has more versions than they can name.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: A writer's own record of songs in progress — where each one stands, who has a hand in it, and which demo version is the current one. Who wrote what is best written down on the day, while everyone still agrees; what the share is, and how it is registered, is between the writers and their society or publisher.
Write-on lines: Writer(s) · Project / album / batch · Year
Table, 7 rows: Started · Working title · Key / tempo · Stage · Co-writers and agreed share · Next step
Table, 5 rows: Date · Song · Version · Recorded where / how · File name / saved where · Sent to / feedback
Because that is between the writers, and different writers, publishers and collecting societies do it differently. The sheet gives you a place to record what you agreed and when; the figure is yours.
Anything you might later need to tell apart — a new arrangement, a new lyric, a re-recording. If you would ever say 'not that one, the other one', give it its own row.

Know at any point how many hours a project has used and what is still owed, and have the record that settles the conversation when a client remembers it differently.
Get through a set without the pause where someone asks what key it is in or whether the capo goes on, and keep a record of what was actually played.
See at a glance which invoices are out, which are late and when each was last chased, which is the information that actually gets invoices paid.

Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
