What this sheet is for

One number the venue, the promoter and the act all signed, instead of three and an argument.

Who it is for

Front-of-house managers, door staff, promoters and anyone running the door at a gig, comedy night or club.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the venue's own capacity figure and any licensed limit at the top.
  2. Record each ticket type with your price, and how many sold in advance, on the door and as comps.
  3. Take clicker readings through the night and keep a running in-house total.
  4. Once doors close, agree the final count and tickets sold total, and have both sides sign.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: The house as it filled: ticket sales by type, the clicker count by time, and one final figure agreed once the doors close.

Signature strip: Final count · Tickets sold total · Agreed by (venue) · Agreed by (promoter)

Questions

Why count tickets and people separately?

Because they are never the same number. No-shows, guest list, re-entry and working staff all open a gap, and whether the deal is settled on tickets or on heads is in the contract, not on this sheet. Record both so either can be used.

Is the capacity figure on the sheet?

No. Capacity is set by the venue and its licence, and it is written in at the top from that source, not printed by us.
