- Add a line after every annual service.
- Record the engineer's registration number every time — it is the detail warranty departments and insurers ask for.
- Keep the engineer's own certificate with this sheet; this is an index of it.
- Note the next service due date as soon as you book it.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
Questions
Does an annual service really matter for the warranty?
For most manufacturers, yes — an annual service by a suitably qualified engineer is a condition of the extended warranty, and they will ask for evidence. Check your own warranty terms, because the requirements differ.
Who is allowed to service a boiler?
Work on gas and oil appliances is restricted to registered or licensed engineers in most countries, and the scheme differs by jurisdiction. Check what registration applies where you live and record the number here.
