What this sheet is for

See how a private supply changes over years rather than judging it from one test, and keep the maintenance record alongside the results.

Who it is for

Anyone on a private well, spring or borehole supply.

How to use it

  1. Record the source type and any treatment fitted.
  2. Enter each laboratory result as a row, with the lab name.
  3. Log shock chlorination, filter changes and UV lamp replacements below.
  4. Compare your results against the guidance that applies where you live.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

What should I test for, and how often?

That is set by your local authority or health department and differs by region and by what is common in your area's geology. Ask them for the recommended suite and frequency — this sheet is for recording whatever you are advised to test.

Why keep old results?

Because a trend is far more informative than a single test. A nitrate level that has doubled over five years is meaningful even if it is still within a limit.
