What this sheet is for
Keep one piece of paper with the car from booking in to handing back, so the invoice is built from what was actually done rather than from memory.
Who it is for
Independent garages, mobile mechanics, bodyshops and any workshop that does not run its own management software — or wants a paper copy that goes with the car.
How to use it
- Fill in the job number, customer, car and mileage in when the keys arrive.
- Write the customer's report in their own words, not your diagnosis.
- Log each task with the technician and the time on and off as it happens.
- List every part and consumable as it is fitted, with the cost if you track it.
- Record the mileage out, advisories given and who the car was handed back to.

Questions
Why is there no labour rate or total?
Because the card is the record the invoice is built from, not the invoice. Hours and part costs are captured; you apply your own rates and mark-ups when you bill.
Where do the road test and pre-check go?
On their own sheets, clipped to this one. The card has a field for who road tested the car, and the detail lives on the Vehicle Road Test Sheet.
