What this sheet is for

Keep the regas machine's own record in step with the job cards, so a comeback can be traced to what actually went into that car and when.

Who it is for

Garages and mobile air conditioning technicians running a recovery and recharge machine, and anyone who has to show what refrigerant was handled.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the workshop, the machine and the month at the top.
  2. For each car, copy the refrigerant type and charge weight from its own underbonnet plate or your data source.
  3. Write the recovered and charged weights as the machine reports them.
  4. Note the leak test done and the vent reading you took, then the job card number.
  5. Start a fresh sheet each month so the machine's record is easy to find.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: One row per vehicle through the regas machine — what came out, what went in, the leak test and the vent reading, so the machine's own record and the job card agree.

The charge weight comes from the car. The refrigerant type and the charge weight for each car are on its own underbonnet plate or in the manufacturer's data — copy them from there, never from the last car of the same model. The machine's recovered and charged weights go in as the machine reports them.

Questions

Why is there no charge weight printed on the sheet?

Because it is different for every car, and getting it from the wrong car is how a system ends up over- or under-charged. The plate on the car and the manufacturer's data are the only places to take it from, so the sheet gives you a column and leaves the figure to them.

What counts as a leak test here?

Whatever your machine and your process use — a vacuum hold, UV dye, an electronic sniffer or a nitrogen test. Write which one you did and what it showed; the column does not assume one method.
