What this sheet is for

Keep a service history in your own hands, so it survives changing garages and is there when you sell.

Who it is for

Car and van owners, especially anyone running an older vehicle or servicing it themselves.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the specification block once from the handbook.
  2. Record the odometer reading at every service — the mileage chain is the history.
  3. Note the garage and invoice number, and keep the invoices together.
  4. Include work you did yourself; date it and say what you fitted.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Does a full service history really affect value?

It is consistently one of the first things a private buyer asks about, and gaps invite suspicion about what happened during them. It matters more on older and higher-mileage vehicles, where it is the main evidence of care.

Does servicing it myself void the warranty?

That depends on the vehicle, the age, and the law where you live — in several regions consumer rules protect independent servicing, but conditions vary. Check your warranty terms, and keep parts receipts either way.
