What this sheet is for

Show a customer or a fleet manager the actual figures behind an advisory, and see at the next visit how much has worn since the last one.

Who it is for

Garages, tyre and brake centres and fleet workshops that measure rather than eyeball brake wear.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the vehicle once, then write the manufacturer's limits into the box from your data source.
  2. Measure each corner and write one row per corner — four rows per visit.
  3. Compare each reading to the limit yourself and write the action taken.
  4. Keep the sheet with the vehicle's file and add the next visit underneath.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: Pad, disc and drum measurements for one vehicle, one corner per row, kept across visits so the wear between one visit and the next is visible instead of guessed.

Write-on lines: Vehicle reg · Make / model · Engine / brake spec · Customer / fleet

Manufacturer's limits — copied from your data source for this vehicle — you measure, these say what is worn

Write-on lines: Front disc min · Rear disc min · Drum max dia. · Pad min · Data source

Measurements — one corner per row (NSF, OSF, NSR, OSR) — four rows per visit

Table, 12 rows: Date · Mileage · Corner · Pad inner · Pad outer · Disc thickness · Run-out / lip · Drum / shoe · Action · Tech

Questions

Why does the sheet not print the minimum disc thickness?

Because it is different for every disc, and a wrong figure on a brake record is worse than none. The manufacturer's data for that vehicle is the only source, so the sheet gives you a box to copy it into and a column to compare against.

Is this a pass or fail record for a test?

No. It records measurements. Whether a brake passes or fails is decided by the scheme you test under, not by this sheet.
