Mobile Mechanic Visit Sheet

A free printable mobile mechanic job sheet — customer and vehicle, work requested and done, parts fitted, checks before you leave and the customer's signature.

What this sheet is for

Get the job, the parts and the sign-off on paper while the customer is still standing on the driveway, instead of reconstructing it in the van later.

Who it is for

Mobile mechanics, mobile tyre fitters and anyone who does vehicle work at the customer's address rather than in a workshop.

How to use it

  1. Fill in the customer, the address and the vehicle, and write the request in the customer's own words.
  2. Log each piece of work with the part fitted, where it came from and the cost as invoiced.
  3. Before leaving, go down the checklist with the customer — old parts, tidy area, payment.
  4. Write any advisories found but not done, book the follow-up and get both signatures.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: One visit to a customer's driveway or yard: what was asked for, what was done, the parts that went on, the checks before you drive off and the customer's signature, all on the sheet that lives in the van.

Work done and parts fitted — costs as you invoiced them — your rates and mark-up are your own, nothing here sets them

Before leaving — tick with the customer present

  • Vehicle started, run up and checked for leaks
  • Road tested where the job needed it
  • Old parts shown to the customer, left or taken as asked
  • Tools counted back into the van
  • Work area left as it was found — no fluids, no rags
  • Anything found but not done written as an advisory
  • Invoice given or sent, and payment taken or arranged
  • Follow-up visit booked if one is needed

Questions

Why is there no call-out charge or hourly rate on the sheet?

Because they are yours to set and they change. The sheet has columns for the part cost and the labour as you invoiced them, and nothing that assumes what they were.

What if the customer supplied the part?

Write that in the part source column. Having it on the signed sheet matters if the part fails later.
