What this sheet is for

Get the decision written down and dated, which is where decluttering actually fails — not in the sorting but in the pile that migrates to the garage.

Who it is for

Anyone clearing a house, downsizing, preparing to move, or reclaiming a room.

How to use it

  1. One room or one cupboard per sheet. Whole-house plans do not survive contact.
  2. Write the decision before you move the item.
  3. Give everything leaving a date, and put that date in the diary.
  4. Record where it is going, so 'donate' does not mean 'the hall'.
  5. Box the undecided, date the box, and open it in a year.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
