The same sheet, on screen. Totals and figures are worked out as you type, rows can be added or removed, and you can print it or download the completed version as a PDF. Everything stays in your browser — your entries are kept in this browser's own storage on this device, nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Who this is for

A record of what left before the move. Items for sale are logged with where they were listed and what they fetched; everything else is logged with where it went, and the summary shows the money raised and what is still in the house.

Households clearing out before a move who want to know what has actually gone, what it raised and what still needs dealing with before the deadline.

What this helps you track

  • Each item for sale, where it was listed, the asking and sold price
  • Items donated, given away, recycled or binned, and where they went
  • Who collected each item and when it left
  • The total raised from sales
  • How many items are still in the house

How to use it

  1. Write the clear-out start date and the deadline you have set for everything to be gone.
  2. Log items to donate, give away, recycle or bin in the first table and tick the decision for each.
  3. Log items for sale in the second table with where they are listed and the asking price.
  4. When an item leaves, write the date and who collected it, and tick gone.
  5. The proceeds, the counts and the items still to go are worked out in the browser and the workbook; on paper, add the sold column.

Formats

  • Printable PDF (A4 and US Letter)
  • Fillable PDF with form fields
  • Fill in online, saved in your browser
  • Excel / Google Sheets workbook

The printable is laid out inside a box that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the two files are identical and neither one is scaled. The fillable PDF has real form fields. The workbook uses plain formulas only — SUM, IF, COUNTIF and the like — so it opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets without anything breaking, and every calculated cell is grey so you can see which figures it worked out.

How to print

Download the A4 or US Letter file to match the paper in your printer, open it in a PDF reader and print at 100% — not "fit to page", which shrinks the writing space. Both files leave a 14 mm margin, which clears the unprintable edge on home printers. To print the online version with your entries in it, use the Print this sheet button, which prints only the sheet and none of the page around it. More on printing.

Questions

Why log items that are just thrown away?

So you know the room is actually done, and so nothing is binned twice in your head but still sitting in the loft. The gone tick is what matters on the day the removals firm arrives.

Is the money raised taxable?

The sheet does not say, as that depends on where you live and your circumstances. It only records what each item sold for; check the rules where you are if you are selling a lot.

Where should things be listed or donated?

Wherever suits you: online marketplaces, local groups, charity shops, recycling centres. The listed where column records your choice so you can follow up.

How is the still to go figure worked out?

It counts the items logged in each table and takes away the ones ticked gone, so anything still unticked near the deadline stands out.
