What this sheet is for
Agree what has been cleaned and what has not, in writing, before the keys and the deposit change hands. Both parties sign the same piece of paper.
Who it is for
Tenants moving out, landlords and letting agents checking a property back in, and end-of-tenancy cleaners.
How to use it
- Read your tenancy agreement first and add anything it names that is not on the list.
- Walk round with the sheet and tick as you go, dating each line.
- Write anything still outstanding in the box at the end, in words both parties agree.
- Both parties sign and date, and each keeps a copy along with the photographs.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
Questions
Is this what the law requires at the end of a tenancy?
No, and nothing on the sheet claims to be. Cleaning standards at the end of a tenancy differ by country and region and are usually set by the tenancy agreement itself. Read your own agreement and check what applies where the property is.
Do I need professional cleaning?
That depends on your agreement and on local rules, not on this sheet. Where cleaning is done for you, keep the receipt with the checklist — the line on the sheet is there for exactly that.
