What this sheet is for

Match the compound to the paperwork, so an unclaimed or wrongly parked unit is spotted while the contact details still work.

Who it is for

Caravan parks, campsites, farms and yards storing touring caravans, motorhomes, boats and trailers for other people.

How to use it

  1. Enter a unit when it arrives, with its chassis or identification number taken from the unit itself.
  2. Record a contact number for the owner and keep it current.
  3. Write the date out when a unit leaves, rather than crossing the row through.
  4. Walk the bays against the register and date the check.
  5. Keep old sheets — they answer what was where and when.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: Every caravan, motorhome, boat or trailer in the storage compound — which bay it is in, whose it is, how to reach them and when it went in or came out.

Walk the bays against the sheet. Storage only works if the register matches the compound. Walk the bays against this sheet and write the date you did it, so an unclaimed unit is noticed while the contact details still work.

Questions

Why record a chassis or identification number?

Because registrations and covers change and a make and model on its own describes hundreds of units. The number stamped or fitted to the unit is what identifies that one, which matters if it is moved, damaged or taken.

Does this cover what storage costs or what you are liable for?

No. Charges and the terms of storage are yours and belong in your own agreement. This is the register of what is in the compound and whose it is.
