What this sheet is for

Walk the same round every time and see a missed point as a gap on the page rather than as nothing at all.

Who it is for

Campsite and touring park wardens, and anyone who walks a site's fire points as part of their own arrangements.

How to use it

  1. List your own fire points once at the top, with location and equipment.
  2. Copy the sheet so the top block stays the same all season.
  3. Fill a row at each point as you reach it, rather than from memory at the desk.
  4. Raise a fault the moment it is found and write where it was raised.
  5. Initial each row so the round has a name against it.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: The campsite fire point check on the walk itself — every point named once at the top, then a row each time one is reached, with what was found and who found it.

Your points, your round. List your own fire points at the top so the round is the same round every time and a missed point shows as a gap. No interval, test or pass mark is printed here: what is checked, how often and to whose standard is set by your own arrangements.

Questions

Why are there no intervals, test values or pass marks on it?

Because what is checked, how often and to whose standard comes from your own arrangements and the rules where your site is — check those. This sheet is the record of the walk, not the specification for it.

How is this different from a fire safety check sheet?

A check sheet asks whether the arrangements are right. This is the round itself: one row per point per walk, so the pattern of walks is visible over a season.
