What this sheet is for

Show that the block was cleaned and restocked, and catch the dripping shower or broken lock while somebody is standing in front of it.

Who it is for

Wardens, cleaners and site staff looking after toilet and shower blocks on a campsite, touring park or holiday park.

How to use it

  1. Put the block and the week at the top, and use one sheet per block.
  2. Write the date and time each round is started.
  3. Initial each column as that part of the block is done.
  4. Write faults in the notes column as you find them, not afterwards.
  5. Display or file the sheet according to your own site practice.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: The toilet and shower block, signed off round by round — what was cleaned, what was restocked, what was broken and who put their initials to it.

Your schedule sets the times. How often a block is cleaned and who signs it off is set by your own site schedule, so the times are blank. What this sheet fixes is the gap between cleaning a block and being able to show it was cleaned.

Write-on lines: Site · Block · Week beginning

Cleaning rounds — initial each column as it is done

Table, 13 rows: Date · Time · Toilets · Showers · Basins · Floors & drains · Bins emptied · Consumables · Faults noted · Initials

Questions

Why does it not say how often the block should be cleaned?

Because that depends on how busy the site is, how many blocks you have and how you staff them — all things you know and this sheet cannot. The times are blank so your own schedule sets them.

Why a column for faults on a cleaning sheet?

Because the cleaner is the person most likely to notice a broken lock, a slow drain or a failed light, and a fault written down at that moment gets fixed. One noticed and remembered usually does not.
