What this sheet is for

Walk the same route every time so the far corner gets looked at, and leave a written note of what needs doing rather than a memory of it.

Who it is for

Site wardens, duty staff and owner-managers walking a caravan park, campsite or holiday park, including relief wardens covering a week.

How to use it

  1. Take the sheet with you and tick as you walk, in the order the sheet is set out.
  2. Reorder the round to match your own site if the route differs.
  3. Write the jobs you find in the notes at the foot, with the pitch or place.
  4. Carry unfinished items forward onto the next day's sheet.
  5. Hand the sheet to whoever takes the next duty.

What is on the sheet

2 pages, in this order:

Page 1

Printed under the title: The walk round the site, in the order you actually walk it — entrance, pitches, service points, blocks, bins and the far corner everybody forgets.

A route, walked in order. The round is a route, not a list of standards. Tick what you looked at, write what needs doing in the notes, and carry the unfinished items forward to the next sheet so nothing quietly drops off the end.

Questions

Why no times or frequencies on the round?

Because how often a site is walked, and by whom, is a staffing decision that belongs to you. The sheet fixes the route and what gets looked at; when it happens is written in the date and time you fill in.

Can a relief warden use it cold?

That is largely the point. Somebody covering a week can walk the same route as the regular warden and see the same things, rather than learning the site by finding out what was missed.
