What this sheet is for
Turn a note into a record, by giving it a title, a date, ruled space and somewhere to sign.
Who it is for
Anyone who needs to write something down properly and keep it: statements, handovers, meeting notes, findings, day books.
How to use it
- Fill in the title block first. An untitled sheet is worthless in a year.
- Write in ink if it may be read back by somebody else later.
- Sign and date it, even when it is only for you.
- Number the pages if it runs to more than one.
- File it where the related paperwork already lives.
What is on the sheet
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: A titled, dated, ruled sheet with a proper footer — for the record that does not fit any form.
Title it, date it, sign it. Written on a proper sheet with a title, a date and a signature, a note becomes a record. Written on the back of an envelope it stays a note, and gets thrown away.
