What this sheet is for
Count things by hand while doing something else, with the categories named and the totals worked out at the end of each row.
Who it is for
Stock takers, wildlife surveys, traffic counts, event door staff, market researchers, teachers, farmers and anyone counting things through a gate.
How to use it
- Write the categories down before you start counting.
- Say what your counting rule is — it matters when somebody repeats the count.
- Total each row when you stop, not from memory afterwards.
- Record the period counted, from and to.
- Have a second person check the totals where the number matters.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
