What this sheet is for

Have a list of what you actually hold online, without writing down a single credential.

Who it is for

Anyone organising their affairs, and anyone who has had to deal with somebody else's accounts and found no list at all.

How to use it

  1. List the account and what it is for, not how to get into it.
  2. Record which email address it is under — that is what recovery depends on.
  3. Note the two-factor method and where the recovery codes are kept.
  4. Mark the paid ones so nothing renews unnoticed.
  5. Store it with your important papers and tell one person it exists.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Why is there no password column?

Because writing passwords on paper is bad advice and we are not going to give it. Anybody who finds such a page has everything. Use a password manager for credentials; use this for the list.

Is a list like this safe to keep?

Far safer than a list of passwords. It still names your accounts, so keep it with your important documents rather than beside the computer.
