What this sheet is for

Prove, months later, that a client left with the aftercare sheet in their hand and had it talked through, and know exactly which wording they were given.

Who it is for

Tattoo artists and studio managers, and piercers who hand out their own aftercare sheets.

How to use it

  1. Write the current handout version and when it was last revised at the top.
  2. Log each change to the wording in the versions table so old records still make sense.
  3. At the end of every session, add a row: client, tattoo, version given, explained, questions asked.
  4. Ask the client to initial the row before they leave.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: A record that each client left with the studio's aftercare handout, that it was talked through, and which version they were given — kept separate from the session record so it can be found in a hurry.

Your handout, not ours. No aftercare instructions are printed on this sheet. The handout itself is yours, written from your training, the products you use and the rules where you work. This page records that it was given and explained, and which version.

Questions

Why does the sheet not contain any aftercare advice?

Because aftercare depends on your products, your technique and the rules where you work, and a printed sheet from us would be someone else's advice. This page records that your own handout was given and explained; the advice stays yours.

Why track handout versions at all?

If the wording changes and a client comes back with a problem, you want to know what they were actually told. A version number on each row answers that in seconds.
