What this sheet is for

Show that every chair, bed or booth was reset between people, and that the studio was properly closed down each night, without relying on anyone's memory of a busy Saturday.

Who it is for

Hairdressers, barbers, beauty and nail salons, tattoo and piercing studios — anyone with stations that see several clients a day.

How to use it

  1. Write the studio, the station and the wipe or product you use at the top.
  2. Tick the close-down row at the end of each day, one row per day.
  3. Each time a station is reset between clients, add a row: surfaces, tools, fresh linen, waste, initials.
  4. Start a new sheet each week and keep the old ones together.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: Each station wiped down and reset between clients, and the studio closed down at the end of the day — ticked as it happens, so the next person in the chair gets a clean start and there is a record of it.

Your products, your frequency. No product, contact time or cleaning frequency is printed here. What you wipe with, how long it sits and how often the deep clean falls comes from the product label, your training and the rules where you work — write yours in the box provided.

End-of-day close-down — tick once the studio is shut

  • Floors swept or mopped and chairs wiped down
  • Basins, sinks and traps cleared and cleaned
  • Bins emptied and liners replaced
  • Towels, capes and linen to the wash
  • Sharps bin checked, closed if full
  • Stock and products put back and tidied

Questions

Why is there no cleaning frequency or contact time on the sheet?

Because the right product, how long it needs to sit and how often a deep clean falls all depend on what you use and the rules where you work. The sheet leaves a box for your own product and records what was done, not what the schedule ought to be.

Is this the same as the sterilisation log?

No. This is the wipe-down and reset of the station itself. Anything that goes through an autoclave has its own cycle record, and the two are kept apart so each stays readable.
