Change the floor over in one planned push rather than a fortnight of half-cleared bays, with every outgoing line given a destination before it comes off.
Owners and managers of shops whose stock turns with the season — clothing, garden, gifts, homewares — and branch staff carrying out a head-office changeover.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: The plan for swapping one season's stock for the next, fixture by fixture — what comes off and where it goes, what goes on and when it is due — so the floor changes over in one push rather than a fortnight of half-cleared bays.
Your call on the outgoing stock. What to do with outgoing stock — clear it, mark it down, send it back or box it for next year — is your buying decision or your supplier's terms. Write the decision in the column; this sheet holds the plan, not the rule.
Write-on lines: Shop / branch · Season out · Season in · Changeover date(s) · Plan drawn up by · New stock due from · Storage for boxed stock
Table, 10 rows: Fixture / bay · Coming off · Outgoing goes to · Going on · Stock due · Who · Done
Because whether to clear it, mark it down, return it or box it for next year depends on your buying terms, your storage and your margins. The sheet has a column for the decision, not a rule for making it.
The stock due column is there so the plan can be re-ordered: fixtures whose new lines have arrived get done first, and the rest wait with their outgoing stock still on display rather than leaving a bare bay.
Find the gaps between the plan and the bay while you are standing in front of it, and leave a record head office or the next shift can act on.
Keep the shelf label and the till telling the same story, and leave a trail showing why a line was reduced and how much of it was left when it was.
Launch an offer complete and take it down complete, with no promotional price left on the till and no point-of-sale still up a week after the end date.
Count stock area by area and see the variance beside the count, so a stock take produces a number you can act on rather than a vague reassurance.

Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
