Make sure no animal leaves with its chip registered to the wrong keeper. Every change is dated and confirmed by the database.
Rescue centres, rehoming charities and foster networks that chip and register animals.
One page, top to bottom:
Printed under the title: Every animal's microchip from the day it arrives to the day it leaves: registered to the rescue while in its care, then passed to the adopter or the owner who reclaims it, with the database's confirmation each time.
Confirmed means confirmed. Keep the rescue as the registered keeper from the day an animal is chipped or its chip is found until it leaves. Tick confirmed only when the database's own confirmation arrives, not when the form is sent. Check the rules where you are on chipping.

So that if the animal is lost from a foster home, the database leads back to the rescue that is responsible for it. Rescue standards ask for this; check the rules where you are on chipping and which databases count.
Because sending a transfer form is not the same as the database changing the record. A tick when the confirmation arrives shows the job is finished, and a gap shows which ones to chase.

Record each home visit the same way, whoever makes it, in person or by video. The approval then rests on what was seen, written down.
Know which puppy is which, what the vet has done to each one and which buyer has paid for it — so no puppy is promised twice and nothing leaves without its papers.
Every sheet, binder, game and puzzle on Upkeep Papers is free to download, with no email and no account. Making them is not free: each one takes days of research, design and checking, and the site costs money to run. If something here saved you time, you can buy us a coffee. It is entirely optional: nothing is locked, and nothing changes if you don’t.
