What this sheet is for

Put the bow back together exactly as it was when it shot well. The sight marks for each distance sit beside the setup they were found with, so they can be trusted again.

Who it is for

Target and field archers, club coaches setting up beginners' bows, and anyone who takes a bow down between sessions.

How to use it

  1. Copy the riser, limbs, string and arrow details onto the top of page one.
  2. Measure brace height, tiller and nocking point the same way each time, and add a dated line.
  3. Write why anything was changed and what the groups did afterwards.
  4. On page two, record each sight mark with the distance, the setup date and the arrows used.
  5. Confirm marks again after any change to the setup.

What is on the sheet

Questions

Why are no brace heights or sight marks printed?

They are specific to your bow, string, arrows and draw. The maker's range is a starting point and your own tuning finds the rest, so the sheet only gives the boxes to keep what you measured.

Why link sight marks to a setup date?

A new string, a different brace height or a change of arrows can move every mark. Knowing which setup a mark was found with tells you whether it can still be used.
