What this sheet is for

Track the usage measure that actually decides when something is replaced, instead of guessing from how old it looks.

Who it is for

Runners, cyclists, home-gym owners and clubs looking after shared equipment.

How to use it

  1. Write the usage measure down when the item is new — kilometres, hours or sessions.
  2. Record the figure you have decided to replace or service at, and where it came from.
  3. Update the running total at intervals you will actually keep to.
  4. Note the cost, so the true price of a season is visible.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Why is there no replacement interval printed?

Because it depends on the item, the surface, your weight and how it is stored, and any figure we printed would be wrong for most readers. Use the manufacturer's figure or your own experience, and write it in the column provided.
