Capture what to do differently while it is still fresh and specific enough to act on, instead of a vague note that helps nobody.
Who it is for
Project teams, event organisers, builders, committees and anyone who does a similar job more than once.
How to use it
- Hold the review within a week. After a month everyone remembers it went fine.
- Write what actually happened, not a diplomatic version of it.
- Put a cost against it — hours, money or goodwill. That is what gets it taken seriously.
- Each lesson needs one concrete change and someone to own it.
- Read the last one before you start the next job. That is the whole point.

Specific, or it is not a lesson. A lesson written as 'communication could have been better' helps nobody. Each row here asks what happened, what it cost, and the one thing you would change — which is what makes it usable next time.
