What this sheet is for

Keep the cleaning round on a dated record, with the red mite check that is easy to skip and expensive to skip twice.

Who it is for

Backyard poultry keepers, smallholders and anyone with a coop, house or ark.

How to use it

  1. Write your own cleaning interval at the top and work to it.
  2. Record the product and the contact time — disinfectant needs both.
  3. Check for red mite every time and record the result, not just the concern.
  4. Note how much bedding you got through; it is a real annual cost.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

How often should a coop be cleaned?

The sheet prints no interval. It depends on the number of birds, the size of the house, the bedding and the weather. Deep litter and daily removal are both valid systems with very different schedules. Choose yours and record against it.
