What this sheet is for

Keep a register of birds on the holding, with the movements that anyone asking about disease or provenance will want to see.

Who it is for

Backyard keepers, breeders, smallholders and anyone approaching a registration threshold.

How to use it

1. Ring or otherwise identify birds you want to track individually.
2. Record where each bird came from, with the seller's details.
3. Record birds out as carefully as birds in.
4. Count the flock against the register a few times a year.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Do I have to register my flock?

In many countries, yes, above a certain number of birds — and the threshold, the form and the deadlines all differ, with some requiring registration from the first bird. Check with your own authority. This is a working register, not a statutory one.
