Wheel Alignment Record

A free printable wheel alignment sheet — tyre wear as found, then each measurement with the maker's spec, before and after readings and whether it was adjusted.

First page of the Wheel Alignment Record — Keep the alignment result after the rig's printout has faded, with the manufacturer's figures written beside your own so the sheet stands alone.

What this sheet is for

Keep the alignment result after the rig's printout has faded, with the manufacturer's figures written beside your own so the sheet stands alone.

Who it is for

Tyre bays, fast-fit centres and garages with an alignment rig, and technicians who set up cars after suspension or steering work.

How to use it

  1. Record the car, mileage, equipment and why it is being checked.
  2. Note each tyre's size, wear pattern and the pressure you set from the door placard.
  3. Copy the manufacturer's specification for each angle into the maker's spec column.
  4. Enter the before and after readings and tick whether each was adjusted.
  5. Record any seized or worn part that stopped it being set, and who road tested it.

What is on the sheet

One page, top to bottom:

Printed under the title: One check or adjustment — tyre wear as found, then each angle with the maker's figure and the reading before and after. No target angles are printed: copy the manufacturer's data into the spec column and the sheet stands alone.

Write-on lines: Reg · Make / model / year · Mileage · Date · Technician · Equipment used · Job card no. · Reason for check

Tyres as found — wear pattern tells you what was wrong before the rig does

Table, 4 rows: Position · Size · Wear pattern · Pressure set to · Tread

Readings — toe, camber, caster and thrust angle, each axle, left and right

Table, 6 rows: Measurement · Maker's spec · Before · After · Adjusted? · Notes

Write-on lines: Parts needed before it can be set · Wheel centred? · Road tested by · Technician signed

Questions

Why are there no target angles printed?

Because they are different for every make, model, year and suspension option, and printing any would be wrong for most cars. Your alignment equipment and the manufacturer's data give the figures; the sheet has a column for them.

Why record tyre wear first?

Because the wear pattern often shows what was wrong before the rig does — an inner-edge feathering says toe, a shoulder says camber — and it is the evidence that the customer's tyre bill was an alignment problem.
