What this sheet is for

Find out whether a yard covers itself, by putting the fees and the costs on the same pair of pages.

Who it is for

Small livery yards, DIY yards with shared costs and anyone taking in liveries.

How to use it

  1. Record fees due and received separately — the gap is the useful number.
  2. Log costs as they happen rather than from a shoebox in April.
  3. Categorise costs so the year can be read back.
  4. Total monthly and compare across the year.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Is this accounts?

No. It is arithmetic on your own figures. Whether the yard is a business, what may be deducted and what must be declared are questions for an accountant and for the tax rules where you are.
