What this sheet is for
Put the feeding instructions where the feeding happens, written so that somebody who has never done it can do it correctly.
Who it is for
Livery yards, shared horses, DIY yards and anyone going away.
How to use it
- Name the scoop and the product, not 'a scoop of the usual'.
- Fill in the 'do not feed' column — allergies and laminitis risk live there.
- Put a phone number at the top for whoever is feeding tonight.
- Update the date whenever anything changes, and initial it.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
Questions
How much should I feed?
No quantities are printed. Feeding depends on the horse, its work, its condition and the forage available, and getting it wrong causes real harm in both directions. Your vet or a qualified nutritionist sets the amounts; this chart carries them to the feed room.
