What this sheet is for
Plan one lesson on one page, with space for the two things people skip: the checking, and the plan for the students who have not got it.
Who it is for
Teachers, trainee teachers, tutors, trainers, instructors and anyone teaching something to a group.
How to use it
- Write what they should leave knowing before you plan a single activity.
- Say what prior knowledge you are assuming — it is where lessons come apart.
- Plan the checking, not just the telling.
- Fill in the adaptations section. It is the difference between a plan and a script.
- Note the follow-up while it is fresh, straight after the lesson.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
