What this sheet is for
Draw the room you actually have and put names into it, so a cover teacher or a new colleague can see who sits where and why.
Who it is for
Teachers, tutors, exam invigilators, trainers and youth group leaders.
How to use it
- Draw the desks, the board, the door and the windows first.
- Write names in pencil for the first week.
- Note why the plan is as it is — it is what stops it being undone by someone else.
- Redraw rather than amend after a few changes.
- Leave a copy with the class file for cover.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
