What this sheet is for

Draw the room you actually have and put names into it, so a cover teacher or a new colleague can see who sits where and why.

Who it is for

Teachers, tutors, exam invigilators, trainers and youth group leaders.

How to use it

  1. Draw the desks, the board, the door and the windows first.
  2. Write names in pencil for the first week.
  3. Note why the plan is as it is — it is what stops it being undone by someone else.
  4. Redraw rather than amend after a few changes.
  5. Leave a copy with the class file for cover.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
