What this sheet is for

Keep a running index of waste leaving the premises and of the documents that came back with it, so a request for records is a filing question.

Who it is for

Small businesses, workshops, garages, salons, builders, farms and landlords clearing property.

How to use it

  1. Record the carrier's registration number, and check it is current.
  2. Describe the waste in the words used on the document.
  3. Note where each document is filed, and file it the same day.
  4. Keep documents for as long as your local rules require.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

Is this log a waste transfer document?

No. It is an index of what happened and where the real paperwork is. What document must accompany waste, who may carry it and how long records must be kept differ by country and by waste type.
