Water Temperature and Flushing Record

What this sheet is for

Keep a dated record of outlet temperatures and flushing so a trend is visible, rather than a single reading taken on the day somebody asked.

Who it is for

Landlords, holiday lets, village halls, small care settings, gyms, salons and anyone responsible for water in a building used by others.

How to use it

1. Write down where your required figures and intervals come from before you start.
2. Give every outlet a reference and use the same one each time.
3. Record the actual reading, not whether it passed.
4. Flush little-used outlets and record that you did.
5. Report anything outside your stated range immediately, and record who you told.

What is on the sheet

The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.

Questions

What temperature should the water be?

That comes from a written water safety assessment carried out by somebody competent, and from local rules — not from a printable. Deliberately, no figure appears anywhere on this sheet.

Does keeping this record make the building safe?

No. The record shows what was measured. Whether the system is safe, what has to be monitored and what to do about a poor reading are matters for the assessment and, where relevant, a specialist.
