What this sheet is for
Write the shot list before the shoot rather than in the car afterwards, and tick shots as captured so nothing is assumed.
Who it is for
Wedding, event, product and portrait photographers, second shooters, and anyone shooting something that only happens once.
How to use it
- Mark the must-have shots before the day and agree them with whoever is paying.
- Tick as captured, not as planned. The two are different by mid-afternoon.
- Note a frame reference against key shots so they can be found in the edit.
- Run the kit list the night before, not at the door.
What is on the sheet
The layout is fixed at a size that fits both A4 and US Letter, so the A4 and Letter files are visually identical and print at full size on either. Rows are set at a height that an adult can actually write a date and a few words into with a pen — most printable tables are built in a word processor and never tested with one.
Questions
Why are there no camera settings on it?
Because settings belong to the light on the day. The sheet is about not going home without the picture, which is a planning problem rather than an exposure one.
